Marian apparition's claim - Mary is an Advocate
In some of the Marian apparitions, Mary claims that she is an Advocate for us. Actual quotes from Marian apparitions appear below. Following the Marian quotes are Bible verses from both the Catholic and Protestant King James Bibles that deal with the same topic.
Marian Apparition Quotes
Quote: The world is degenerating, so much so, that it was necessary for the Father and the Son to send Me into the world, among all the peoples, in order to be their Advocate and to save them. Apparition: Lady of all Nations Status: Bishop approved. These are apparitions in which the local Bishop (Ordinary) has investigated the apparition and its message and given his seal of approval (Imprimatur). This means Catholics can (but are not required) to listen and obey the messages. Quote: I stand here as the Co-Redemptrix and Advocate. Everything should be concentrated on that. Repeat this after Me: The new dogma will be the "dogma of the Co-Redemptrix. Apparition: Lady of all Nations Status: Bishop approved. These are apparitions in which the local Bishop (Ordinary) has investigated the apparition and its message and given his seal of approval (Imprimatur). Related Bible Verses about Jesus
These Marian apparitions claim that Mary has attributes that the Bible says only Jesus (and in some cases the Holy Spirit) has. Consider the Bible verses below from both the Protestant King James and Catholic New American Bible's. In both cases they directly contradict the apparition claims. See this link for a list of 20 claims the Marian apparitions make about Mary that are directly contradicted by the Bible. Also note that nowhere in the Bible does God say that Mary has any of these traits. Additionally, God specifically warned us that these apparitions would be commonplace in the last days, and that their purpose would be to deceive us. For more information on that, see clips numbers 6, 7 and 8 of the Messages From Heaven videotape.
Protestant King James Version (KJV) Bible Catholic New American Bible (NAB)
1 John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1 John 2:1-2 My children, I am writing this to you so that you may not commit sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one. He is expiation for our sins, and not for our sins only but for those of the whole world.
Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
Hebrews 9:24 For Christ did not enter into a sanctuary made by hands, a copy of the true one, but heaven itself, that he might now appear before God on our behalf.
The sixth video clip from the English version of the video is titled (on our web site) "Comparing messages from the Marian apparitions to the Bible". In that clip, a comparison is made between the characteristics the Marian apparitions claim for themselves against the Bible. Keep in mind that with the exception of the Medjugorje apparitions, only Catholic church and Bishop approved messages were considered in this video.
