We received the following e-mail from grassfire.net concerning an important victory for the Boy Scouts of America.

1/14/02

Dear Young Earth Creation Club,

Last week when President Bush signed the Education Bill, he also signed into law the most significant Scouts legislative victory in many, many months.

And you helped make it possible!

Sen. Helms' Scouts Equal Access Act now ensures that schools cannot discriminate against the Scouts if they expect to receive our tax dollars.

This is GREAT NEWS for the Scouts, and we wanted to thank you for your efforts through Grassfire.net on behalf of the Scouts. Because Grassfire.net represents more than 300,000 Scouts supporters, doors opened on Capitol Hill for our team to represent you and impact this debate.

Our contacts on Capitol Hill are crediting the Grassfire team for helping make the difference between winning and losing at the Conference Committee. Your efforts have had an impact! And now, Grassfire.net is gearing up for our most significant effort on behalf of the Scouts yet. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing with you a detailed plan to help turn back what has become the most significant threat to Scouting in America today.

This threat has already dramatically impacted dozens of local Scouting organizations.

BE WATCHING FOR A SPECIAL UPDATE NEXT

WEEK FROM GRASSFIRE.NET ON THIS MAJOR THREAT FACING THE SCOUTS.

But that's next week. For now, please accept our thanks for all you have done on behalf of the Scouts. You are making a real impact as a key member of the Grassfire.net team.

Grassfire.net

Real Impact. Real Feedback. Real Results.

P.S. As an FYI, Grassfire.net has another petition drive under way that you may be interested in. Its called our "God Bless America Task Force," and our goal is to see that great song become the national hymn of America (in addition to our national anthem) in recognition of what happened in this country after 9/11.

Nearly 50,000 people have already stood with us and we are now working with our contacts on Capitol Hill in support of a bill in Congress that will accomplish this goal. Wed love to add your support. Please click the link below, and thanks again for your help with the Scouts.
